Slick 2005-2012

This weekend our cat passed away. He was attacked and killed by the big poodles that live next door. Slick was a part of our lives for nearly 8 years. John found the little black fur ball by the back step of my parents house and took him home. He loved taking walks. Every time we headed out for a walk, he was always there following us. One of his habits that he had, that I will miss, was that he would paw at the windows any time he wanted in the breezeway, to be fed, or if he just wanted the breezeway doors closed. Any time I sat outside he would want to sit on my lap. He was very good to my children. I don't think that he ever hurt them. When I was pregnant with Ian he would lay across my belly and keep us company. Although he was kind to my children, he tormented the barn cats. I had to break up a few of the fights that they had. He loved to lay on the grill of the fire pan and sun bathe. Another one of his favorite summer spots was in the bird feeder on the porch. He would go inside the breezeway every night and greet John every morning before work.  Every time I went to take a photo of him, he would walk right up to the camera and rub his head against my camera. He was so lovable. I will miss him very much.
