New Life is a Blessing!

A bird made a nest in a flower pot I have hanging on our porch. About two weeks ago I discovered that she laid eggs, 5 to be precise.

This was a very dedicated mother, she sat there even while I tormented her with the flash of my camera!

Today I heard some little chirps! All five of the eggs hatched! You can only see four in the picture, but I assure you all five are in there. One little bugger is just hidden. I was so excited when I found them today.

Just a walk in the woods!

The kids and I went on a walk today. After a short walk through the woods we made it to the creek. Playing in the water was very refreshing. After the creek we were able to see a tractor in the field! Ian and Anya were very excited to see that. I love how spending some time in nature clears the mind and leaves room for the rest of the day!

Garden

Anya and I have been working hard in the garden since April. After yesterdays storm we went out to weed the garden. A lot of it is disheveled right now in the pictures, but I believe they will bounce back. I had to thin out the carrots and onions because they were over crowded. Anya was very happy about that because the carrots that I pulled were actually starting to grow and she got to eat some tiny carrots! She ran back to the house and immediately washed them and shared with Ian. 

Growing up we had a garden and I swore that I would never have a garden. I guess I had no idea how much fun they actually are. Sure, they are a lot of work, but it pays off in the end!

Life flies by!

I have been a horrible blogger lately! I plan on fixing that though. I stopped bringing out my big camera every time I leave the house in fear of something happening to it. I decided that I needed a small camera that fits in my pocket to capture more everyday things! I got that camera yesterday and am pretty happy about it! I am glad that I can still have a camera on me at all times and not worry about it constantly.

Yesterday, I went outside to find our little turtle sitting on the lilly pad in our little pond! Thanks to my new camera, I was able to get a few pictures of it for the first time!

And I just had to share a picture of my pretty kitty Athena

Thanks to my mother-in-law I was able to play outside with my camera this morning and capture some pretty shots!

Pamela and Shamus turn 2

My twin niece and nephew turn two this week. On Sunday we attended their birthday party. They are an adorable set of babies! I love that I get to spend some time with them. I also got to see my other niece and nephew, they were home for the weekend!

Build a Bear Workshop!

The kids and I spent yesterday with my mom. We ended up going to the mall to visit the Build a Bear Workshop. We all ended up getting a stuffed animal. The kids (especially Ian) are absolutely in love with their new friends. These little guys are perfect! We were able to make them reflect our personalities, they have a heartbeat, and they can do little sayings. These animals have done everything with my kids since they were made!

More Easter Pictures!

This time I had the kids dress in their Easter outfits and added a few more props. I am a lot happier with these pictures than the last!
