Assignment, Urban Black and White

John gave me the opportunity to go out on the town with my camera, and no kids! I had so much fun walking around town with my new camera bag and the beautiful camera accessories to go in it! I kind of felt professional just walking around town taking careful shots. It was an experience that I would love to repeat. Here are the shots I took. I edited them in Photoshop to make them in black and white for the assignment.

I have the most amazing husband! My birthday is coming up and he gave me a surprise birthday gift early! It is a macro lens for my camera. Here are a few shots that I got to play around with today.

This weekend we threw my big brother a surprise birthday party! It was his 30th birthday. It was a very nice party and was absolutely a surprise, he showed up in his pajamas!

This weekend was rough. Ian started running a fever on Friday afternoon. By midnight, he was vomiting and sleeping in our bed. He woke up every half hour to get sick. Saturday was just as bad. Into the night was the same as Friday night. By Sunday, I was exhausted. He was still running a fever all day Sunday and Monday. Luckily the vomiting stopped by 4pm on Sunday. Tuesday he slowly turned back into my little man.
Now on a more happy note! John bought me my Birthday present early this year! I got a new lens for my camera. It's a Sony 75-300. I was able to practice with it a little.

Yesterday, we went to my parents house. We had an Easter dinner and egg hunt! It was a lot of fun. I was very happy to see my nieces and nephews, and my brother and sister-in-law! My friend also came for the egg hunt also with her two boys.

The kids were able to help Pops make ice-cream!

Monday, I came home from book group to find Anya holding John by the neck while watching a movie. I ran to get the camera. I missed the perfect photo, but this is still cute.

What a GREAT week! I spent the whole week with some wonderful little kids. I was privileged with watching the neighbor kids during the day. I loved every minute of it.
This weekend was full of excitement as well. I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend. Our weekend consisted of a little shopping and the rest of the time with family and friends.

Throughout the week, we did some Easter projects. Dying eggs was one of them.

We headed down to my Grandma's house for the remainder of the day.

I had to get ready for the egg toss. I didn't want to drive two hours home with eggs on me, so I improvised with trash bags.

This morning, the kids found their candy. It was too cute.
